Course Overview
The Advanced Life Support Course focuses on the practical application of advanced resuscitation equipment commonly used during adult cardiac arrest and emergency response situations.
Participants will work with realistic training equipment and simulation technologies to enhance competency in:
- Advanced airway management
- Defibrillation and cardiac rhythm recognition
- Oxygen therapy delivery
- CPR quality improvement
- Patient monitoring
- Emergency response coordination
- Intravenous access preparation
- Scenario-based resuscitation practice

Course Delivery
- Recognition and Assessment of Critically Ill Patients: Learn to identify and evaluate critically ill patients using a structured approach to ensure prompt and accurate intervention.
- Management of the Deteriorating Patient: Employ the ABCDE approach to manage patients who are deteriorating, aiming to prevent progression to cardiac arrest.
- Airway Management Techniques: Master advanced techniques for securing and managing the airway to ensure effective ventilation and oxygenation.
- Basic Life Support (BLS): Gain proficiency in fundamental life support skills, including chest compressions and rescue breaths.
- Defibrillation: Build confidence in using defibrillation equipment, both manual and Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), to restore normal heart rhythm.
- Cardiac Arrest Management: Apply the ALS Algorithm to manage cardiac arrest situations effectively, integrating advanced life support principles.
- Effective Team Dynamics: Develop the skills necessary for working collaboratively as part of a team during critical scenarios to enhance patient outcomes

- You will be sent an email with an invitation to enrol in your selected course

- You are required to complete 4 hours of pre-learning online theory prior to attending the course
- This course is delivered in partnership with Resuscitation Australia
We need a miniumum of 6 students per class in order to run the class/scenarios. If we can’t reach the 6 person minimum, the class will be cancelled and you will receive a refund.
You MUST finalised the pre-learning prior to the assessment. If you don’t complete your online learning prior to course start, you won’t be able to attend and will not receive a certificate and NO REFUND.
